Beeston Castle and Woodland Park will be holding an Autumn Fair over the weekend of the 6 and 7 October. The fair, which is in its fourth year, will celebrate all things autumnal. Visitors will be able to watch falconry displays', chainsaw carving displays, listen to music and join in on a foraging walk as well as having the chance to explore the castle's 4000 year history. Included again this year is the favourite of visitors, the annual Dog Show.

The fair will be opened by musician Wyndebagge who present seasonal sounds with an array of instruments and quirky anecdotes.

The foraging walks, run by James Wood, scours the area for wild delicacies teaching followers how to safely identify plants which are then cooked afterwards.

Animal lovers are invited to bring their pooches to take part in a dog show which sees the best of the regions canine friends compete in an obstacle course as well as being judged for Waggiest Tail, Cleverest Canine, Scruffiest Dog, Golden Oldie and Cutest Puppy!

Visitors can learn about local wildlife with the Cheshire Wildlife Trust, have a go at den building and follow a paw print trail in the 40 acres of woodland. Experts in historic falconry will demonstrate spectacular displays how birds where used to hunt.

Also on display will be live action wood carvings done by Chainsaw Artist, Steve Tarr who uses both wood machinery and hand tools for his clever carvings.

The event runs at Beeston Castle on the 6 and 7 October 11am ' 4pm.
