At this season of the year, when there's much fading of autumn leaves, and winter is marching on; when storms batter, and restrictions because of infections loom ahead – it is easy to become bleak in our thinking.
But, it only takes a moment to reflect on the good that's all around us – especially at this time of the year: the season of Christmas, of goodwill, of light displays and festive activities. It has at least been possible to enjoy these close at hand this year!
And just as autumn leaves with their bright colours, not only herald the coming of cold and winter – they also point to the spring: signs of new life, of new beginnings – and so of hope.
So let's all join in our local community events, and reflect on what we do have, and what we can do, and encourage each other: it could be catching!
