Pictured are three Tattenhall youngsters who were certainly having fun up at the The Cheshire Workshops – Candle Factory in Burwardsley, and who told me that they love taking part in all the activities and workshops that are available on site.

Holly (aged 12), Tabitha (aged 8) and Jacob (aged 5), proudly displayed their creative models using the 'no mess' foam clay that is a latest attraction in one of the many workshops available for youngsters.

Whilst they each love painting, creating candles and making badges at The Candle Workshops, the new foam clay attraction is proving to be a real hit with youngsters. The air drying foam clay contains small polystyrene beads which can be moulded to add texture to any model and which dries at room temperature. The clay foam comes in a variety of colours and is hugely creative!

Youngsters ordinarily select 4 balls of coloured foam clay which are flexible and which they then use to cover ceramic models of their choice. Whilst Tabitha was keen to create a life-like model of a Penguin, both Holly and Jacob used their artisitc skills to create more colourful ceramic models of a dolphin and a frog. What all childen (and parents and grandparents) like about this new attraction is that it is great fun but a 'no mess' attraction.

Overseeing proceedings was Harry Mason who has a summer job at 'The Cheshire Workshops – Candle Factory' and who is currently studying English Literature, Photography and History at South Cheshire College.

Over the coming Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday, Sunday and Monday), 4 x 10g balls of coloured foam clay will be offered free of charge with each ceramic model purchased. The foam balls usually cost 50p each – a saving of £2 per child!!

Once their creative accomplishments were ready to take home, all three Tattenhallers were quick to pop into the restaurant where the Pork & Apple Sauce & Stuffing Batch was a real hit, together with a well deserved ice cream.

So, parents, what are you waiting for? As the holidays draw to the their natural close and the Bank Holiday Weekend is a last chance to get out and about, then pop into the 'Cheshire Workshops – Candle Factory' and let the children indulge their creative talents with literally 'no mess'.

Have fun! http://www.cheshireworkshops.co.uk/content/candle-workshops
