The Village Show held on Sunday was yet again very successful. Entries and entrants were up on last year, with a number of people who had never entered before. Despite the challenging weather the standard in some things was good. However, runner beans were clearly difficult to grow and what is usually a well supported class, there were only 3 and none quite met the long straight ideal. However this is a village show and 1st, second and third were still awarded.
The new section in the Flower Arranging -" Tattenhall Talent "-was a great success with 4 organisations and 1 business entering. The winner, voted by the public, was the floriferous Gardening Society, second was T&G- with a gabion full of bricks and logs, a builders mug and a rooftop succulent garden, and third Helpful Knitters with their hanging basket of brightly coloured knitted flowers.
The craft section displayed some amazingly fine and beautiful work.
One area that has not been well supported is cooking- so next year the Society will have a rethink- any suggestions would be welcome to the Gardening Society.
