was hosted by Tattenhall Runners at the Flacca Field and Tattenhall Sports Club on Friday 23rd June.
Field Lane and Burwardsley Road were closed off for the start of the race at 7:10pm as 76 teams of 3 runners set off for the mixed terrain race – that's some 228 runners!
Winners this year were the Blue Musketeers team form Buckley Runners, with a new course record of 58 minutes and 4 seconds – beating the previous record by some 36 seconds; well done Blue Musketeers. The first female team to finish were the Three Goats Gruff.
Teams from as far as Liverpool, Wallasey, Hoylake, and Prestatyn – as well as some local teams – took part in this exciting, well organised and fun event.
It was great to see spectators cheering on the competitors as they neared the finish line, with children running alongside to support the runners in their final sprint. Competitors already across the finish line also joined in the cheering and encouraging other competitors.
Food and drinks were enjoyed after the race, and presentations made to the winning categories. All in all a great event that filled the air with cheers , laughter, and a general buzz that was truly energising.
Well done to Tattenhall Runners, Tattenhall Sports Club and all the many volunteers that enabled the race to go so well.
