Tattenhall Squash organised a summer tournament on Sunday 3rd July for Club Players and some of the Local Elite
The action started at noon with 7 Club players playing a round robin match. Those taking part:
James Dutton – former team player now living in Bournemouth
Chris Bluff – fanatical squash player. Never off the court
Max Harper – undefeated last season
Mike Hudson – making a comeback
Neil Robinson – wishing he could make a comeback
Liam Murphy – new player showing great promise, particularly at the bar
Steve Wells – ex World No1 ... in his dreams.
By 2:30 after some closely contested matches James came out the winner – undefeated and with 180 points.
Then we had a fun event for the kids – everyone a winner!
Then came the big event. Those in the frame:
Hannah Davies – Exceptional young talent from Wrexham
Paul Kettle – Tattenhall No. 1
Dave Whitehead – Tournament Organiser and all round good guy
Karl Hardie -Karlos the Jackal from Neston Squash
Steve Glenton – from Tarporley and currently playing for Warrington
Joe McGoldrick – Looking for a Club and now he's found it.
Robbie Blair – Just got back from outer space
George Dobson – Tattenhall team player just back from A levels
Gareth Frost – Frostie the Snowman from County Officers
Matches were played in 2 Groups and the winners played the Final
Paul won Group A
Hannah won Group B
Final Score refereed by Robbie : Paul won 15-11
Dave presented the prizes : a bag of Maltesers each!
This was such a good event played in a good spirit that Dave has agreed to organise another before the season starts in September.
Afterwards we all went to the bar for snacks and beers. A great day!
