Tattenhall's own community choir Tattenhall Singers, led by Rachel Hughes, their brilliant musical director, performed on Tuesday night in the Barbour Institute to a packed hall, having sold all the tickets very soon after they were on sale! They have increased in size by a third this year, their glorious sounds fill the Barbour! Each concert gets better and better. They performed a series of songs ranging from Christmassy ones to opera, plus two Christmas poems.
It showcased their excellent range of talent. It was a very enjoyable and impressive performance, full of energy and exuberance. It included an enjoyable and lighthearted invitation for audience participation, giving us a chance to exercise our lungs and unexpectedly our legs!
A raffle in aid of the refurbishment of the toilets in the Barbour made- £300.
The Singers will next be singing carols in St Albans on December 17th.
