We reported yesterday that Remembrance 2020 would be like no other.
And so it was.
BUT, the community of Tattenhall (as it always does) made a collaborative effort to pay tribute to those who have given their lives in conflict.
The weather was unusually damp and the principal focus for reflection was, on this occasion, at our Horse of War and Poppy Wreath Sculptures, adjacent to the War Memorial.
David Bish, our local Poppy Appeal Organiser, has kindly forwarded these images to the Website.
One image also shows the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Headstone of Private Mathew Boylan in the Churchyard and adjacent to the Clayton Gate, Chester Road.
Mathew died on 8 November 1918.
His story is on the Tattenhall Local History Website CLICK HERE but a more detailed section devoted to Pte Mathew Boylan, including a photograph of Mathew Boylan with his family, can be found in the new local history book 'Tattenhall – A Community United by War' CLICK HERE.
Our thanks to everyone in the community who contributed to Remembrance 2020.
'IN GRATITUDE TO ALL WHO SERVED'.
Tattenhall Online is powered by our active community.
