'The Chameleon Quintet'
"... they make more instrument changes, whilst playing, than there are stops on the New York Subway!!..." (a quote from a reviewer from one of their concerts).
The clue to their performance is in their title ... chameleon!! The ensemble play flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon and were formed in 2016 after meeting at the RNCM. United by their ability to play each other's instruments they can exchange instruments ... often within the same piece!! A first for Tattenhall Music Society and a concert not to be missed.
The concert is at the Parish Church of St. Alban on Sunday, January 14th, 2018 at 6.30pm, doors open at 5.45pm. Admission is £10 for visitors and £8 for members. Under 18 years are always free. This is a wonderful concert for any youngsters learning an instrument to enjoy a first-class ensemble performance at close hand. The musicians are always enthusiastic about chatting to youngsters during the interval or at the end of the concert.
Their programme of music will include a suite of folk songs.... Scarborough Fayre, Ar Lan Yr Mor and Toss the Feathers plus music from the Carnival of the Animals, West Side Story, George Gershwin and Debussy. An excellent range of music to suit everybody so come along and welcome the New Year with Tattenhall Music Society.
