Do you now that you can find the history of older houses in the village by going to the history section of this website, by scrolling down right to the bottom of the page.

Have you ever wondered about the house – Alpha House which is a house everyone must pass, in the heart of the village. at the junction of Chester Road, Tattenhall Road and the High Street. This is an early image of the property with a ‘family group’ appearing to pose for the photographer outside of the building. It is unknown how old the house is , but it does appear to be built in two different styles-the ground floor and the upper floor. In 1901 it was lived in by a widow Mrs Emma Evans , aged 78, living with her niece Emily Burton who was described as a “Sick Nurse” For more information scroll down and find out.

The village has many interesting houses in the centre of the village many with interesting tales to tell of the past lives of people who lived here.
The information on this website was mostly researched by Terri Hull when the website was first developed 10 years ago.
If you have any information or knowledge of other famous residents or stories bout the houses. in thevillage we would be very happy to hear about them.
