We would like to say a huge thankyou to all those who helped cook and donate cakes and to Tootie Fruities who entertained the crowds.
We had a very successful open garden event yesterday at Tattenhall Hall, despite the occasional shower. We had over 470 people visit the garden to enjoy it, listen to the music and eat cake!
We were generously helped by some of the Ukrainians who lived near the village until last year, who returned again to help with the teas, alongside our other friends and helpers.
The money from the entrance fee and the plant sales goes to the National Garden Scheme which donates to a wide number of charities including : Marie Curie, Macmillan Cancer Support, Hospice UK, Carers Trust, The Queens Nursing Institute, Parkinson's UK, plus smaller donations to charities to support Gardeners, and Gardens and Health charities like Horatio's Garden, also supporting Community Gardens.

This year after supporting local organisations and charities for the last 18 years, the money from the donated teas and cakes went to the UN World Food Programme which provides food aid to countries around the world who are suffering from conflicts and famine. We made an amazing total of £1438 from just a tea and cake stall. This was made possible by all those who baked and donated those delicious cakes- and amazingly we didn't run out!.
