Tattenhall entomologist Chloe Aldridge will give a talk on her study at Chester Zoo. She has done several studies of insects found in Tattenhall and district gardens, and is now the Monitoring Officer at Chester Zoo nature reserve, which she has studied over the last year.
Four years ago, an agricultural field was turned into a flower-rich meadow and ponds were created on the Nature Reserve at Chester Zoo, continuing a process of wildlife restoration on this site. Since then, the animals and plants arriving and taking advantage of this new space, have been regularly recorded, and this talk gives an insight into the process of gathering information so that changes can be tracked. The talk is also a virtual visit to the reserve at various points across the spring and summer and will introduce us to some of the vast network of plant and animal lives being lived out there.
