Tattenhall took an important step towards securing their place in the Cheshire County League with an important win against Alvanley on Saturday.
Captain, Glenn Coppack, won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first on a rain affected day in Helsby.
Alvanley opener, Jono Whitley, made 55 as they posted 165 for 9 in their allotted 42 overs.
Tattenhall would need to bat well facing Cheshire bowler Chris Charles and England left arm spin bowler, Sophie Ecclestone.
Openers, Pearce (50) and Afzal (57), made a superb century partnership to calm the nerves before being pegged back to 134-4 and a need to consolidate.
Coppack (25no) was able to withstand the pressure and take his side to the target in the 38th over to complete the valuable win.
Saturday sees the basement side, Runcorn, visit the Flacca (12 noon start) and a chance to confirm safety with two games left; as ever all visitors are welcome and admission is free. Do come and watch.
