Tattenhall Business Alliance – Autumn Meet – Thank you Applegates!

Last Thursday the Tattenhall Business Alliance held their Autumn Meet at Applegates Farm Shop with guest speaker Chris Green (pictured below) , from The Larkton Group, guiding us all on the topic of public speaking. It was a really fun, enjoyable and insightful evening.

As we gathered we were greeted with a selection of fine wines and tasty nibbles from Paul Walker, the owner of Applegates Farm Shop, who has done a fantastic job with the business since he took it over 10 months ago. Paul, has 22 years' experience in the restaurant trade and in the three years prior to taking on Applegates he has run his own group of vintage mobile catering vans.

Applegates is now a thriving local farm shop for the local community, passing trade and visitors to the region. One of Paul's greatest achievements to date is increasing his locally sourced products from 30% to 70% which is great to hear. He is also working towards reducing the plastic and single use packaging we are all now very aware of. As well as a new brand, new menus, food truck nights, licensed bistro evenings and outside catering we were all told to look out for camping pods, an on-site wedding venue and much much more to come in 2019!

We would like to thank Paul for his extremely kind hospitality but also big thanks go to the award- winning Chris Green for his brilliant talk on public speaking. Love it or hate it, public speaking is something that goes hand-in-hand with leadership and is a crucial way to engage employees, customers, investors and other stakeholders. Chris started his presentation with the wise words of 'Don't look up!' you never know where it might get you... an intriguing insight into why and how 'looking up' can actually enhance our lives and speaking opportunities!

All in all another great evening for the Tattenhall Business Alliance! The Christmas meet will be on Wednesday 5th December at Alison's in Tattenhall for Tapas.
