Last Wednesday night's thunderstorm in this part of Cheshire was one of the longest and most powerful in living memory and Cheshire fire crews had one of their busiest nights for years.
Worst hit were the Tarporley, Beeston, Tattenhall, Bickerton and Malpas areas as lightning sparked fires and flood waters left cars submerged and buildings under water.
The A41 near Whitchurch was also blocked for a time as storm winds brought down large tree branches, which fire crews were called to clear.
The attached pictures shows the track from the car park up towards Maiden Castle and the lane up to the National Trust car park from Goldford Lane. Elsewhere new erosion shows the power of the immense volumes of water flowing down the hills.
