Ruth McPhillips: August 2016
Well, if it was good enough for Sir Francis Drake, King Henry VIII and King James I, then I suspect it is certainly good enough for Tattenhall.
Blessed with quite splendid Bank Holiday weather (a first), the Bowling Competition, which took place at the Bowling Green (behind the Sportsmans), was a huge success.
Visitor, Joanna Bauldreay, stood up to the plate (is there such a term in bowling) when the competition was short of just one player. Whilst Joanna may not have played for several years, she soon found that she had not lost 'the touch'. Thankfully we might add, since Joanna and her mother, Margaret, had simply shown up to watch the proceedings!
The talented players who won the Doubles Match were Esme Crane and Harry Hewson.
The Singles Match has had to be extended to another day.
Please feel free to come, watch or play at Social Bowling from 2pm on Saturdays.
We look forward to seeing you.
