The month of May is upon us and what weather ahead you might ask.

As you will know, the unseasonal weather played havoc with Tattenhall sporting fixtures last weekend.

William Shakespeare's Sonnet 18 comes to mind ... 'Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May' ... well it seemed appropriate since we have just celebrated the anniversary of both the birth and death of our most famous playwright.

With the promise of summer still just out of sight, therefore, we include a selection of our roving photographer's images.

These local photographs have all been taken in the last couple of weeks and make promise of what is ahead – our particular thanks to Keith Titchener (click on each image to enlarge).

Clumps of bluebells, areas around our newly created 'Flacca Wetland', a female Mallard with her brood of ducklings, frogspawn and a Jay are sure to bring a smile to your faces as you return to work after the long weekend.

We will be announcing the winner of our April 'Online Photographer of the Month' very shortly but in the meantime, get those cameras out and start submitting your 'May' entries.

The monthly prize is a £20 voucher to be spent at Spar store on the High Street (kindly donated by Thom Morton).
