Road Closure Planned for May

You will recall that we published this story yesterday but we attach the most recent update below ....

Yesterday's Story ....
We are getting reports and lots of Facebook entries regarding a possible bridge closure which is preventing access to Tattenhall – does anyone know more?

If this is the issue that was raised last week when a member of the community contacted us, then one of our Webteam investigated the issue and was advised by our Ward Councillor that the road would not be closed until the Utilities company obtained the correct permissions and could then justify the proposed length of the closure (which we believed to be 3 weeks). Our understanding was that the signs were to be removed and, therefore, there was no story to publish.

Today's Update ...
'I spoke to customer services at United Utilities and was told it will be closed for an open road slip line scheme ie lining water pipes AGAIN. He said the works had been put back until May now and he wasn't sure what they were doing putting them out. I complained about closing the road for 3 weeks as the diversion was about 10 miles to go all the way round via Waverton and could they put lights up instead. United Utilities customer service number is 0345 672 3723' (thank you to our contact in this respect).
