Road closure

Advance notice to everyone that Burwardsley Road will be closed between the Sportsman's and Birds Lane this coming Sunday 27th January for 10-15 minutes from around 10.55am.

This event is organised by Chester Triathlon Club, in conjunction with Sport Tattenhall, and with Tattenhall Runners participating! Please could all road users take extra care but we encourage anyone to cheer on the competitors to show them a Cestrian welcome! This year we are expecting between 400-500 athletes to attend the event.

The race starts and finishes at the Flacca. The course takes the runners up Burwardsley Road, turning right along Dark Lane and then left onto Bolesworth Road towards Harthill, and then turning left towards Burwardsley, past the Post Office before returning to Tattenhall and the Flacca along Burwardsley Road.

The 'Borders Road Running League' was formed in 1983 and consists of 17 clubs from across North Wales, Wirral and West Cheshire. The very first Borders League race was held in 1984 at Tattenhall and there were 100 finishers. The last two or three seasons have witnessed an explosion in participation levels, with the average number of finishers reaching 350 last season.
