The following comments have been sent to us from an individual who attended a recent Transition Tattenhall Meeting. Makes perfect sense to most of us, of that I am sure.
Cut food waste at home
- Cut food waste at home by sniffing and tasting urges new campaign.
- Leading UK dairy and food brands are behind a new initiative to fight the UK food-waste mountain by reducing the amount thrown away at home.
- 'Look, Smell, Taste, Don't Waste'.
- The label 'Use by' date is out and 'Best by' date is in.
Eat Local
- Food economy. There are signs that there is a growing interest in UK food and less on food from faraway places. -David Potts – Chief Executive of Morrison's is keen to increase the proportion of British food on the shelves.
- Independent food shops are more likely to stock UK food.
- Morgaine Gaye, food trend forecaster, predicts the future of supermarkets is in the balance. She predicts more of us will soon be buying directly from producers.
