Tattenhall Gardening Society February 8th meeting

"TGS' next talk is on Wednesday 8 February at 7.45pm and our speaker is Laura Wilgoss, of Wildegoose Nursery, Millichope, Shropshire; her subject is 'Creating Beautiful Borders'. We are back in the main hall of the Barbour Institute for this talk.

Some of you will be aware that Laura and her husband took over the derelict walled garden at Millichope some years ago and with it the Bouts Viola collection. Since then they have re-built both the garden and the historic glasshouses and now use their garden to provide stock material for their nursery sales, which includes not only violas but a wide range of perennials (more details here: () () .

Wildegoose Nursery has exhibited at Chelsea and Malvern Shows, amongst others, and has been awarded medals at both. Laura's talk will focus on the principles of good border design: structure, balance, maintenance and above all the plants themselves – which to choose and inspiring ways to combine them. They have also been featured on Gardeners World on BBC TV.
