If like this member of the Webteam, a letter has landed through your letterbox from Barclays Bank, then you too are likely to be disappointed.

From January 2020, Barclays account holders will no longer be able to withdraw cash from any Post Office counter, including that located at Pluto House.

This is disappointing for footfall in our Post Office, and particularly if other banks decide to follow this pathway.

Thankfully, Thom Morton at SPAR Tattenhall, is a retailer who will continue to offer the cashback facility with any purchase and up to a limit of £50.

For information, the ATM located instore at SPAR is also FREE and customers will still be able to withdraw monies up to their agreed daily limit, as well as obtain a balance of their accounts.

Whilst the trend might well be toward a cashless society, we all need to be reminded of how hard we fought to retain the Post Office and its services on our High Street – use it or lose it.
