If like me, you were awoken by the noise of the Police Helicopter(s) last evening, then you probably rolled over and went back to sleep.
However, Tattenhall Post Office was the target of intruders last night.
Both Lesley Morton and Thom Morton are fine thankfully but they have had little sleep all night.
We have received this update from our Homewatch Co-ordinator.
The Police would like the general Public to please be aware of any discarded items that may have been used or associated with a break-in to the Tattenhall Post Office in the early hours of this morning. Also any vehicles that may have been parked up in unusual places. This is in the general area of Tattenhall and A41 towards the direction of Merseyside.
A pane of glass was removed from the window to gain access, however before being able to make an attempt on the safe the alarm was activated and the offenders left in a car at speed. It was stated by the Police that nothing was taken.
If you have any further information on any possible related unusual sightings please call 101, or in complete confidence Crime Stoppers 0800 555 111 quoting incident 61 of the 11/5/17
A sanguine reminder to us all that criminality has no boundaries, not least in the heart of our beautiful village.
Our thanks to Lesley and to Thom in all that they do for our community.
