At a recent meeting, Tattenhall Brownies made these lovely 'Poppy Pebbles'

Each 'Poppy Pebble' carried the name of just some of Tattenhall's fallen soldiers.

The girls are hoping that the pebbles can be placed at the War Memorial as part of the Armistice Centenary Events, which will be held during the weekend of 11 November.

The girls found a list of about 30 names on our Tattenhall History Website and recognised that this list represented only about half of those young men who died in and around Tattenhall during both World Wars.

The Brownies couldn't believe how young a lot of the soldiers were when they died.

Our Assistant Leader has kindly offered to varnish the Poppies over the half term holiday so that they weather well.

With the generous help of 'Tattenhall Local History', we also showed the Brownies some old photographs of what our village used to look like at the time of The Great War and which the Brownies found really interesting.

As a Brownie Group, we know it's very important to honour and remember those who gave their lives for us and we think it is important to pass this information on to our Brownies.

We will all be attending this year's very special Remembrance Service on 11 November as part of the Centenary Anniversary of the end of The Great War.

We will also be taking part in a rehearsal night on our first day back after half term.

Well done Tattenhall Brownies!
