A resident of the village has been picking litter regularly around the village. She has made this collage which is now in the Parish Council noticeboard outside the Spar.
She researched how long these things remain in the environment. Can you imagine what the park and village would look like in ten years let alone a hundred if this litter was just left? But no-one is paid to pick it up. Our lanes around the village seem constantly to be the repository of litter presumably thrown from vehicles.
How can we stop children and adults from just throwing litter anywhere?
There are litter bins on the park. But they're are often overflowing, so the only way to deal with this is to take your litter home, recycle things that can be recycled, reuse other things and responsibly throw the remainder for the council to put into landfill.
Other councils have put up posters like this, so maybe this is what we need in Tattenhall.
