Pluto House Gift Shop – An Aladdin's Cave

That we all enjoy the Post Office counter service being back in its rightful home, 'Pluto House', is an understatement, of that I am sure.

BUT, what an Aladdin's Cave the Pluto House Gift Shop actually is, and right here in the heart of the village!

This member of the Webteam popped into Pluto House Gift Shop this morning to have a chat with Lesley Morton, our lovely 'Post Manager', and to see what's on offer. In fact, what's on offer is so much more than just a Post Office counter service (well I knew that but did you?).

Lesley Morton stocks quite the most distinctive selection of quality cards, wrappings, fine tissue papers, ribbons, gift bags and stationery. The selection of occasion cards is astonishing in a village of our size with Lesley stocking the imaginative and beautiful designs of 'Caroline Gardner', one of the UK's leading designers, and those of 'Woodmansterne', who aim to reflect British culture and taste whether through the magic of Quentin Blake's illustrations, the beauty of the National Trust images or the humour of Punch cartoons. There is also a section devoted to 'Alex Clark', the animal images being really popular with the youngsters in the village and with animal lovers generally.

With Mother's Day just around the corner (26 March in case you need reminding), then look no further. I loved the 'Sweet Pea' and 'Perfectly Fresh' scented candle tins (positively fragrant) and the 'Tiptree English Berries Candle Gift Sets' are an imaginative and stylish twist on their iconic miniature fruits on the farm jams!! Every mother needs her own mug and the 'I Love You to the Moon and Back' ceramic mugs are bound to bring a smile to any mother on Mother's Day or choose from a selection of metal frames – she'll love them! In fact, if you want to dress the house for your special mother, there is also a selection of bunting and hearts galore!

So, pop into Pluto House Gift Shop on our High Street and enjoy browsing ... whilst there, you can always pick up all the regular items that we always need – jiffy bags, sticky tape, bird food, birdfeeders, batteries, local guide books, notepads, pencil cases, padlocks, umbrellas, stylish tins, the odd photocopy ... the list goes on!
