The Centenary Anniversary of the Armistice (the end of The Great War) takes place next year.
A Committee is already established within the village and they are seeking to create another memorable weekend of events, not unlike that which many of us remember back in 2014 and which marked the commencement of that conflict.
To remind everyone of that spectacular community event or to share with newcomers to the village exactly what took place, then CLICK HERE. This really was community engagement and learning at its very best.
In terms of our local history and heritage, therefore, if any residents have new information, artefacts, photographs, war records etc regarding those from our village and its immediate surroundings who died in the conflict or of those men or women who remained behind, then please contact Terri Hull or Yvonne Keeping. We are building up a picture of how war affected communities at home, not least our own, with a view to publishing a commemorative book for the Centenary Event.

They look forward to hearing from you.
