The Park School – Commencement of New Building Works

We have received notification of new building works at the Park School commencing 17th July 2017.

The construction team (Whitfield and Brown) will move on site week this week to begin to set up their site and commence work on the pool building initially and then, after the end of term, occupy most of the existing school. The work will be intensive in order that the school can move back in at the start of the new term in September.

There will be a builders' compound on the back playground across the back of school also taking in the penned play area. Access for deliveries will be from the Chester Road across the school field (along a temporary road). As a safeguarding/ H&S measure, to ensure that the community are kept safe, there will be a number of measures, including Heras fencing (temporary) and a special crossing over the footpath which runs parallel with Chester Road.

The School has asked the builders for thought to be given to the time of deliveries and to consider the neighbours who live by school in particular.

Jo Hawkins, Head Teacher said "As much as the build will produce some challenges, safeguarding and health and safety considerations will be at the heart of all we do and the decisions we make. We all recognise that the short term disruption will mean that in the long term we will have an almost totally refurbished school with an extension too, which is a huge benefit to all of the community".
