Parish Council Meeting – 9 April, 7.30pm, Barbour Institute

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Monday 9 April at 7.30pm in the Barbour Institute.

Members of the Public are welcome at all meetings, not only to raise issues in the Public Forum which precedes all meetings, but to understand more fully the work of our Parish Councillors.

This meeting will be the last full Council meeting for our Parish Clerk, Jean Dutton, who has served the Parish for an incredible 33 years. Her last meeting will be of the Planning Committee on 23 April. Jean's knowledge of the powers which a Parish Council can exercise is encyclopaedic and has proved invaluable. Residents have cause to be very grateful to her for her experience and dedication, having always been available for advice and help, well beyond her contracted hours. Well done Jean!

We wish Jean a long and happy retirement and express the gratitude of the community for her long service.

The Parish Council has begun a collection for Jean in her retirement. If any resident would like to make a contribution, boxes can be found in the Post Office and Alison's Coffee Shop from Tuesday 3 April.
