Opening Times Change at Tattenhall Recycling Centre

CHANGE OF HOUSEHOLD WASTE RECYCLING CENTRE OPENING TIMES & MANAGEMENT CHANGE FROM 1 APRIL 2026

The HWRCs opening hours will be changing from 1 April 2026 to the summer opening times (1 April to 31 October).

Our Tattenhall Site will be CLOSED EVERY TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY and open Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm.

For the other sites:

• Opening times for Chester, Ellesmere Port & Winsford (Primary sites): Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday & Sunday 8am to 6pm
• Opening times for Northwich & Frodsham (Secondary sites) CLOSED EVERY WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm
• Opening times for Neston & Tattenhall (Secondary sites) CLOSED EVERY TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm

Please make sure you arrive at least ten minutes before sites close to give you enough time to unload your recycling and waste.
The gates may be closed before the closing times to allow those on the site to dispose of their waste.

As from 1 April 2026, the Council-owned company Cheshire West Recycling (CWR) will take over managing the Borough’s seven HWRC sites. HW Martin’s contract to manage the sites ends on 31 March 2026. While the transition is expected to be seamless, residents should be aware that minor disruption may be possible during the first few weeks as the new contractor embeds processes and site staff become fully familiar with on site systems. Any disruption is expected to be minimal and short term.
