The information you have been waiting for!
From February through to November 2016 we have been running an online photographic competition and a panel of two judges from our photographic team have been voting on the monthly winners.
We have had a fantastic number of photographs submitted, demonstrating your love of the countryside and of Tattenhall. What was so refreshing to see was that many of you happened to be in the right place at the right time and that (according to the judges) you were using both sophisticated equipment and/or hand held devices.
Our special thanks to Thom Morton at Spar who has not only provided the monthly prize to each winning photographer but who donated a hamper filled with 'Cheshire goodies' as one of our three prizes.
A huge 'thank you' to Alison Pritchard too, who donated a beautifully iced Christmas Cake and a 'Voucher for 4' to be enjoyed at her 'Alison's Country Kitchen' business on the High Street.
And, finally, our thanks to Inspired Villages in providing a bottle of celebratory bubbly to one of our three top winners.
Without further ado as they say .... (click on each image to enlarge)
Voted by our judges as the overall winner was the photograph of the Water Vole taken at Tattenhall Marina. This was considered to be an excellent photograph of a mammal which few of us would ever see, let alone photograph, and that these beautiful creatures are in the Tattenhall area is something of which we should be very proud.
In second place, was our photograph of the Rainbows which was a well caught event that showcases the beautiful countryside within a short walk from the village centre, at a beautiful time of year.
In third place, was the War Memorial photograph, regarded to be a moody shot, taken when the village was quiet, which is a feature of village life that many of us cherish; go to Chester if you want bright lights, stay in Tattenhall if you prefer contemplative lighting!
And, in signing off, our judges have stated that ... 'we have had some fantastic photography and good tries over the year and we would love to see these photographers "give it a go" at the Annual Garden Society show in September 2017, which includes a photographic section. There are assorted classes within that, including one specifically for wildlife in Tattenhall'!
Our thanks to you all in showcasing our wonderful village!
