Over ninety years ago on April 18, 1930, listeners tuning in to hear the BBC's 8:45 p.m. news bulletin were told "there is no news tonight." This has never happened again.

There were newsworthy events that day but for some reason the BBC failed either to gather the news or to present it.

Here at Tattenhall Online we accept news stories 24/7 through our "Contact Us" tab and every single day we have a nominated Duty Editor ready to process news on to our website. We are your mouthpiece.

Traditionally, in all news media, August is a slow month, often called the "silly season". This year is very different. Normal social contact has been dramatically disturbed by Covid-19 and we are now in a state of flux as some restrictions are reduced.

Our readers have shown that they are very interested in stories that show the response of our local businesses and the experiences of our residents.

PLEASE KEEP THE STORIES COMING

* how has your business been affected
* what have you been able to do to be Covid-compliant
* have you made some imaginative innovations
* if you are a Club or local service, what's happening
* do you have a personal story to tell

Stories along the above lines that we have already published have attracted a high "hit" rate and have helped oil the wheels of life in the village. Similarly our series of "Images in Isolation" have been very well received and have allowed our most vulnerable residents see sights that otherwise would be denied them at this time.

PLEASE CONSIDER THE ABOVE QUESTIONS AND PUT FINGER TO KEYBOARD VIA OUR "CONTACT US" TAB.

WE CAN HELP PREPARE YOUr DRAFT IDEA TO BE READY FOR PUBLICATION
