New Chevrons on Chester Road

Many of you will know just how tight some of the bends are on the Chester Road.

Terrific news – new chevron warning signs have most recently been installed at the Z-bend below Brook Hall.

This outcome has taken almost two years following the initial assessment of the old chevron signage (3 of which were virtually hidden in the hedge, with just 1 bent rusty one remaining wholly visible).

Our Clerk to the Parish Council, Ann Wright, is to be commended for her time, energy and capacity in the work she has undertaken in this respect.

Speeding and poor road awareness have resulted in constant damage to the hedges and verges at this section of the Chester Road. Like us, I am sure you will have witnessed multiple wheel hubs and sundry pieces of car debris over the years.

Let's hope that the new chevrons, the new speed signage throughout the village, and upcoming hedge cutting will seek to combine for safer motoring.
