English Heritage has a range of craft activities on offer at the 'Castle of the Rock', including bird-food-ball and bug hotel making and an invitation for visitors to build their very own den within the 40-acre woodland park, home to a wide range of wildlife from foxes, rabbits and bats to buzzards and even peregrine falcons.

Assistant Events Manager Ella Harrison said:

"With spring in sight, those looking to embrace their natural surroundings this February half term are in for a treat, as Beeston Castle and Woodland Park offers a range of hands-on activities. From bug hotels to den building, winter is behind us and it's time to get back outside again."

Activities run from Monday 20th to Friday 24th February, and as well as activities for children of all ages, there is also plenty to explore at the castle, with 4,000 years of history, views across eight counties from the Pennines to the Welsh mountains, and the tantalising mystery of Richard II's lost treasure, missing for centuries and said to be buried somewhere within the castle grounds.
