The Neighbourhood Watch has reported that two scams have been received by email today both look very authentic, until you really read them and see that they have missed off the r in 'your' several times! But it comes with what looks like genuine logos and footers The following is a short version of the scam email:
"THIS IS AN AUTOMATED EMAIL — Please do not reply as emails received at this address cannot be responded to.
DVLA have been notified electronically about you latest payment for your vehicle tax failed because there is not enough money on you debit card.
Your vehicle is no longer taxed. We have generated a new invoice, and we suggest you to use a credit card instead of a debit, to avoid any other consequences that might appear in case again won't be enough funds inside.

The second relates to a TV licence, but this does not look so official. They are both scams
"You have a new message
We're really sorry to tell you that we cancelled your licence as we were unable to authorise your payment details.
Unfortunately we've had to suspend your account as you currently have an overdue balance of £12.17
Please get in touch immediately to pay this amount.
If you don't keep up with your payments, we may be forced to cancel your licence or pass your details to a debt collection agency."................
There does seem to be a plague of scams around with email and telephone. There is a BT telephone scam around currently , the voice of a very nice young man telling you that your line will be cut off and to press 1, never ever do this. You can report them as phishing to the relevant organisation, but never give out details to anyone on phone or by email unless you are absolutely sure it is genuine.
