Missed Surgery Appointments – 144 Missed Appointments

Our Village Surgeries Practice is ranked 'Good' and (with your help) is seeking to move towards an 'Outstanding' classification.

The Patient Participation Survey (CLICK HERE) will help us to further identify our strengths and weaknesses and provide information upon which we can act.

However, our practice, like others, records missed appointments.

Failure to attend booked appointments can cause serious delays in the treatment of other patients.

It also wastes Doctors' and Nurses' time. During the month of February 2018:

• there were 144 missed appointments
• this was up 24% on the same month in 2017

We urge you to ensure that if you have a pre-booked appointment which you know you will be unable to attend, then please let the practice know so that your appointment can be cancelled, thus allowing capacity for someone who might need to see one of our practitioners.

This applies to appointments with both a doctor and/or a practice nurse.
