Local Success Story – Treading the Boards

Just occasionally, we share the success of one of our very own!

An individual who was born in Tattenhall, who attended the local primary school and who then attended The Bishop Heber High School.

Who is this individual you ask?

And, the answer would be Jess Pritchard, daughter of Alison whom we all know and love and who is a very successful local businesswoman, workaholic, staunch supporter of all 'things Tattenhall', active participant in TADs and long serving Parish Councillor.

And so to the story of Jess who is currently performing at The English Theatre Company of Hamburg as 'Marina' in BEAUTY OF THE FATHER.

Jess graduated in 2017 with a first class honours degree in Acting from The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), winning the award for best actress and representing her school at the BBC's Carlton Hobbs radio awards. Jess's training credits include: Mimi in RENT (Peak Productions) and numerous leading roles in both classical and contemporary plays.

Jess moved to London after paying leading roles in her first professional productions: Thomas Middleton's Jacobean Tragedy WOMEN BEWARE WOMEN, and a new musical CONSTANCE AND SINESTRA (both directed by Alexandra Spencer-Jones). She has also featured in a music video for the Band MY FOREVER and has performed the title female role in two traditional British 'pantomimes' – (a modern form of commedia dell'arte), Jill in JACK AND THE BEANSTALK for UK productions, most recently completing a run as Snow White in SNOW WHITE for Imagine Theatre.

In 2018 Jess worked on some new exciting virtual reality projects, played a leading role in the physical theatre production WARRIOR: DAUGHTERHOOD, and performed in China as part of the 'a cappella musical', GOBSMACKED!

Jess is delighted to be joining The English Theatre Company and to be living in Hamburg and working on one of her favourite plays.
