The view of the Liverpool skyline was most spectacular on Sunday, 6th September. Not only could the outline of the two Cathedrals be observed on the horizon, but a ray of sunshine appears to highlight the Museum of Liverpool, in contrast to the ominous cloud cover.

The picture was taken from the Sandstone Trail on Bickerton Hill, near Maiden Castle. The Iron Age inhabitants obviously enjoyed the view, as well as avoiding the marshes of the Dee Valley below. The background to this fort , one of six on the Sandstone Ridge, is outlined on the plaque displayed on the second picture
