Thom Morton, Director of SPAR Tattenhall, is celebrating!
Just back from a prestigious 2018 Gala Dinner and Awards Evening, which was hosted by Jason Manford, are our very own 'Phil and Hayley' who picked up SPAR Tattenhall's Award for:
- 'BEST SPAR BRAND ADVOCATE'
Recognising suppliers and retailers, 'SPAR Tattenhall's Award' is testimony to Thom Morton's continuing support for:
- Local festivals and events, not least Tattenhall's Charity Beer Festival and, importantly, our upcoming Armistice Centenary Events to be held next month
- His single-use plastic bag initiative which has supported so many local groups within the village, such as our new community playground, TWiG (Tattenhall Wildlife Group), Tattenhall Croquet Club and the Tattenhall Local History Website
- Importantly too, Thom has taken the initiative in trialling SPAR'S new evening meal concept, offering in-store sampling to customers
- His Tattenhall store has high SPAR brand participation, with 30% of products in-store being own label
Without doubt, Thom strives to ensure that his store represents a modern and relevant retailer in our community, whilst sustaining customer loyalty.
And, with that in mind, he is proud to announce his next initiatives ....
- The single use plastic bag initiative is to be replaced with a more sustainable alternative
- Long-lasting 'Jute Bags' will be available to purchase in store for £3
- Hard-wearing recyclable 'Bags for Life' will be available at 10p
- 4p from the sale of each bag will still be donated to local environmentally-friendly projects
- When stocks of plastic bags (used for the wrapping of fresh produce) are exhausted, they will be replaced by paper bags
- SPAR Tattenhall is also sourcing environmentally friendly cups and straws for next year's slushy season
We appreciate any further suggestions from our loyal customer base within the village and thank you all for your continued support
