The Grand Opening Gala and family fete was a huge success bringing together residents and the local community of all ages. Nearly 500 guests attended to celebrate in the sunshine, creating an incredible atmosphere, heightened by the excitement of lots of selfies with Gregg Wallace.
The event also featured live music, Strictly Come Dancing performances, hand massages and manicures, wine tasting, a barbeque and craft demonstrations. As well as a showing of 'The Greatest Showman' with vintage sweets and popcorn in the library and cinema room.
Gregg was given a private tour of Gifford Lea and the new facilities and even surprised the new head chef and kitchen team by popping in to say hello and making himself a quick sandwich whilst he was there. He commented: "Launch events really don't get better than this! I was so impressed with the community spirit and the amount of people who turned up to celebrate. The village centre really is top notch and demonstrates retirement living at its best."
