Who are we?
Tattenhall Cricket Club is a family oriented, friendly club in the village of Tattenhall that have over recent years has improved it's beautiful ground to become a superb facility that has hosted minor counties cricket and enjoyed a visit from the international Lashings super stars. We have 2 Saturday teams, a Sunday side, a thriving youth cricket section and Over 40's with around 140 active senior and junior members. For the 1st time in its 125 year history, no cricket has been played this year at Tattenhall Cricket Club, but vital maintenance works still go on.

This year we were due to be running the ECB AllStar and Dynamo's programmes for young boys and girls aged 5-11 to get a fantastic first experience of the game which had been fully subscribed and will now take place in 2021.

Our club development was driven by improvements to the ground made by our long-term stalwart volunteer groundsman, Brian Jarrard who sadly passed away in 2019 and we now need to secure his legacy to the club.

Why do we need funds now?
With the passing of our volunteer groundsman last year, we now must pay some of the costs of upkeep of the ground which is shared between commercial contractors and club volunteers.

Those costs do not stop, even though this year because of COVID 19 we have not played any games, and no subscriptions have been collected.

We also must plan for 2 major items of expenditure.

Our club motorised roller has broken down and now needs replacing, which will cost around £4,000 to £5,000 – This vital piece of equipment ensures a safe, consistent playing surface can be prepared.

In 2009 the club raised substantial funding which was matched by the ECB to install superb new net facilities contributed greatly to developing our current generation of young cricketers. These facilities now need a major overhaul to maintain them in a safe condition and these works will cost the club around £10,000 over the next year.

What does Tattenhall Cricket Club bring to our local community?
Tattenhall Cricket Club is located in the heart of the village and shares its facilities with Tattenhall Recreation Club which provides a wonderful family-oriented facility with a gym, tennis and squash courts a bar and event hosting room. The club hosts numerous community events throughout the year.

We are a vibrant and friendly club that provides first class facilities so that young players coming into the game enjoy the best possible environment to set them on their cricketing journey and we pride ourselves on the strength of our youth section – at a time when many clubs are struggling to attract youngsters into cricket, our youth teams are going from strength to strength with girls and boys enjoying playing cricket at one of the best facilities in Cheshire.

Tattenhall Cricket Club is the beating heart of the village, and the grounds are widely used and enjoyed by all the community, not just for playing sports but for events, walking the dog, playing with family and a village without cricket would leave a gaping hole in the local community.

What can you do to help?
We welcome donations, however small to help us get us to our target and secure the future of this wonderful community facility.

We know these are difficult times for many and greatly appreciate any help you can give to ensure Tattenhall Cricket Club not only survives but continues to thrive and broaden its playing base even further over the coming years
