Flooding on roads around the village

If you've been out and about on the roads around the village in the past few days you may well have encountered some rather large puddles.

A reader of Tattenhall Online has asked us whether anyone can explain why there is always a flood warning sign on Chester Road between Gatesheath and the village when the road seldom floods and why there is never a warning sign on Rocky Lane between The Righi and the A 41 when that section of road is very prone to flooding. Also can anyone explain why that section of road on Rocky Lane, which is on relatively high ground, floods after even modest rainfall?
