The flood warning gauge at Tattenhall is now live on the 'Check for Flooding Service' at Mill Brook level in Tattenhall High Street -- GOV.UK act enhanced Detection and forecasting is triggered when the river level reaches 1.1m. This triggers the duty team to forecast whether the river level will carry on rising. A Flood Warning will be issued when it is anticipated that flooding to properties from the river is expected. At Tattenhall this correlates to a level of 1.6 m, so a Flood Warning will be issued when the water level is forecast to reach 1.6 m. It is aimed to do this with a lead time of 1 hour, although this isn't always possible as you will have seen with recent storm events, water levels can rise very rapidly.
