Phase 2a of the Mill Brook Flood Defence Works at China Meadow continue to take shape.
The project outcome is to alleviate further flood risk within the centre of Tattenhall and builds on the good practice of Phase 1 which was completed in 2016.
Our photographic update clearly shows one of the proposed bunds taking shape.
The creation of earth banks or soil bunds such as these are used to slow the flow and movement of water and reduce downstream flooding.
Dr Nicola Hall from ELM Associates and Dr Mike Norbury from Mersey Forest were on site today, together with members of TWiG and the contractor.
Andrew Hull, Chair of TWiG, will lead groups of residents around the completed project in due course; particularly those residents who were affected by the recent flooding at Old Mill Place.
