Exciting News for Harthill Cookery School

Brian Mellor was excited to talk about the recent announcement of a partnership with Cheshire College – South & West.

Brian, founder of Harthill Cookery School has long been an ambassador for the College in his on field of expertise but has not been restricted by his trade and is now working closely with various other departments across the Colleges three sites, in Crewe, Ellesmere Port and Chester, including Construction and Media and Games, to provide live project briefs.

Brian has been working with the catering students in the College's branded restaurants Academy and Academy West where the students wear Harthill branded chefs whites, and guest chefs are also now going in for Gourmet Evenings. As well as Brian, future guest chefs are Paul Askew from Celebrity Master Chef and Ellis Barrie from Great British Menu.

The College construction students recently visited Harthill Cookery School to rejuvenate some of the surrounding land, a project which Brian set up with The Bolesworth Estate, who provided all materials. This provided the students with hands-on experience as part of teaching and learning sessions as well as valuable, practical involvement.

Media Students have been assisting with photographs and media updates, and in an exiting venture, Brian is due to be involved in the filming of a 13 part series for Malaysian TV. The media students will get first hand experience with the TV crew.

Congratulations Brian, it is always great news when someone works so closely to assist young people to get experience in their chosen career and we will watch the growth of the partnership with interest.
