In autumn the clocks go back, officially at 2.00am on the final Sunday of October, which this year is Sunday, October 26th.
It means an extra hour of daylight as the darker nights roll in, and the added bonus of an extra hour in bed for your Sunday lie-in!
However, not all clocks or time pieces will need manual changing; any device connected to the internet such as smartphones, televisions, laptops and tablets should change automatically.
However – be careful – some devices will need to be altered manually – such as: wind-up/battery alarm clocks, car radios and other devices not connected to the internet. Check which ones need you to amend them – and do it Saturday evening when you go to bed. Then you can be sure that you'll be on time for everything on Sunday, and the rest of the months ahead until the Spring of 2026.
Don't be caught out.
