covid19 tier 2

National Covid -19 Lockdown ended at midnight 1st of December

Tattenhall is now under Tier 2 Covid-19 restrictions and a full detailed, official explanation can be found on the Government website -Click Here

National lockdown has resulted in a significant decline in the number of Covid-19 cases, particularly the number entering hospital. The number of deaths has just started to decline and is expected to follow the downward trend in line with number of cases and hospital admissions. Tier 2 restrictions are crucial to maintaining downward trends and thus allowing more freedoms planned for over the Christmas period.

HIGHLIGHTS OF TIER 2

  • No Socialising at Home – household members and support bubble only indoors anywhere
  • Maximum Group of Six People meeting outdoors
  • All Covid Safe Shops Open – customers must wear face covering/mask and obey shop rules
  • Restaurants and Pub/Restaurants serving food can open
  • Many Outdoor Activities allowed

NB These are highlighted rules that will make a big difference if followed successfully. The Government website (link above) is much more detailed. No socialising at home is obviously a big restriction but there are also many activities that are allowed and encouraged.

The second wave of Covid-19 has been quite a shock and demonstrably a threat to the NHS in the worst hit areas. There is however three-fold good news:

  • We can all pull together in Tier 2 to suppress the virus
  • Some relief will be allowed at Christmas – be jolly but also be jolly careful
  • Long-term, vaccines show a genuine promise of defeating the virus
