It has been a stunning autumn, but now the leaves are really beginning to fall. Don’t see them as a nuisance , they are extremely valuable in the garden iff gathered and used to make leaf mould. This can be as easy as raking the leaves up and putting in a plastic bag which has a few holes in it. Make sure it is reasonably wet and store somewhere cool for about a year or so- occasionally water to keep moist. In a year or so you will have a compost like substance which is very valuable to help condition your soil. Leaf mould is made through the action of fungus, which are very important to all soil micro- organisms.
