Didn't She Do Well – Claire Raises over £11,000 in the London Marathon

Claire Dickens is back from her London Marathon success and is still pinching herself that she has done it, is glowing with pride in what she has achieved and is humbled by the amount that her efforts have raised for Breast Cancer NOW, the charity that is close to her heart.

She would like to extend her 'THANKS' to everyone who supported her locally and her thanks to 'Tattenhall Online' too for publicising her particular story.

In her first ever Marathon, Claire came in with a 'Finish Time of 05:17:12'.

Importantly for Claire, she has so far raised just over £11,015 (YES £11,015)!

Claire is not only a Client Account Manager with Illingworth Seddon right here in the centre of the village, but she is also an ambassador for the St. James's Place Foundation, scrutinising some of the regional charities who might have applied for large funding and grants. She also undertakes applications for Local Office Allowances on behalf of charities who fall within the Foundation's criteria. Claire was lucky enough to secure the support of the St. James's Place Foundation who matched her personal fundraising + Gift Aid up to £5,000 to donate to Breast Cancer NOW. At the time of writing this article, therefore, the total raised for Breast Cancer NOW is £11,015 since Claire has some offline and private donations too.

Not content with that, St. James's Place Foundation then chose to double-match Claire's fundraising with a further +£5,000 going to the St. James's Place Foundation, which supports a number of mainly children's charities.

What a difference just one marathon runner can make!

Our congratulations to Claire and to any other Tattenhaller who ran in the London Marathon. Though we asked individuals to contact us if they were competing so that we could publicise their stories, Claire was the only Tattenhaller who came forward.
