Many of you will know Ruth McPhillips within the village.

Ruth is currently a member of 2 Sports Clubs in the Village. In relation to the Bowling Club, Ruth is not only a member of the B Squad but she is also the Secretary of the Club and she is also heavily involved with fund raising. She also has the luxury of being a member of the Croquet Club which seeks to raise money annually.

Tattenhall is a vibrant community which enjoys a raft of clubs and societies and Ruth asks everyone to consider that they support each other. Wouldn't it be great if every club could provide a team at some of our fund raising events? Ruth feels particularly strongly about this because, as some of you will recall, the Bowling Club had to cancel a quiz earlier this year because of lack of support.

Any event in the village takes enormous amounts of time, energy and capacity to organise. Similarly, if food is involved, then planning and preparation is also factored in.

With this in mind, Ruth asks whether your particular group has purchased tickets for the Quiz Night to be held at The Sports Club on Friday 13th October. Ruth is fully aware that this event coincides with The Tattenhall Beer Festival Weekend Event but she is presuming that a village of our size can actually accommodate both events.

There are tables for 6 people — you can find partners on the night — and the cost is £12 per person.

For that you get a fun evening with good company — all ages — not just us oldies — with prizes, an excellent supper (I know this because I know the cooks) and a free glass of wine.

All you have to do is to book a ticket any number from 1 to 12 from Sheila phone number is 772503.

Pick up the phone today please.
